beddings is set in an erotic dream world where your characters go when they sleep. Of course, they don't get there by just dozing off under ordinary circumstances. No, only certified Catnap™ items can take them there. Whether it's a mattress, sheets, pajamas, or pillows, your character is in possession of one or more of these fine sleep products. Of course, they don't know that they're sleeping on a portal to a world without sexual limits. Bastet is tricky that way. She runs a mattress empire that spans universes. Don't ask why. It's rude to question a goddess.

The erotic dream world can be practically anything. In dreams your character may be led to believe they're someone else entirely, sift through old memories, find themselves placed into the setting of their wildest fantasy, not even realize they're dreaming at all until they awaken... the possibilities are endless. As is the nature with dreams, anything is fair game and there's no one way to go or stay. There are no constraints on time or place. If you feel like having your character dream about doing the nasty in a full classroom, on a train, in the Shire, that is well within your means. Your imagination is your only limitation.

Also, time works differently in such a way that encourages everyone to tag. If your character is playing the damsel in distress and has already been rescued by the first person to tag into the post, that doesn't mean someone else can't tag in to rescue as well. Just think of the dream as recurring when the next person tags in.

Bastet: (n) Goddess with a mattress empire.

Bastet hails from Egyptian mythology. She is the goddess of felines, love, sexuality, protection, beauty, and dance.

No matter the age Bastet has always existed, protecting and encouraging her children as they fumble through life and try to find themselves. Guiding them, gently. This was easy in simpler times. However, as mankind became more enlightened and distrustful, Bastet needed to become more clever in her protection, more subtle - thus her dream world was born. By weaving her blessings into certain sleep items created by the company she built from the ground up many many years ago, her children can dip into dreams to explore their sexuality, admire beauty, truly live and experience all there is to experience without the dangers and limits of reality.

Oh yeah. And she's a cat. Or, seems to prefer to present herself as one most of the time.

Catnaps™ is Bastet's line of sleep products. Her company has an incarnation of some sort in every conceivable universe. Her blankets, pillows, sheets, beddings etc. are sold by traders and merchants in the more primitive worlds while you can find them in shopping malls and department stores if your world is a bit more modern. Catnaps™ also supplies beddings to dormitories, hotels, motels and inns. Heck, even hospitals, prisons, and asylums have them.

When you use a Catnaps™ product, you're enjoying only the finest Egyptian cotton. Before you know it, you'll be out cold and drifting off into dreams. And that's when the real fun starts.

To put it very simply: wet dreams. Highly realistic wet dreams, realistic in the sense that your character will feel everything in the dream like they would in reality coupled with the whimsical nature of dreams. The goddess Bastet has connected your character to an erotic dreaming space where they can meet with other characters and explore their sexualities and kinks without fear of judgement or any kind of consequences. Literally any kink can be played out here because it's all just a dream when you get right down to it! If you can dream it you can do it. Fulfill your greatest fantasies or live out your worst nightmares. It's all up to you.

Yep! This dream world is your sandbox. You can be as fluffy and sweet as possible or verge into horror-terror territory, all of it is welcome here and possible thanks to the limitless nature of dreams. Everything necessary for their fantasies is available to your character as long as they can dream it up. Collars and high heels and lube galore. The scenes can be as realistic or unrealistic as you want - dreams are never one set way, after all. And the best part is that when they wake up all that'll be left from whatever strange smutty business they've gotten into will just be that awkward morning boner... for now.

One day in the game is one week in real life since you can have several dreams in one night and that's not even counting naps. We go at a slow and easy pace and this ratio seems to be what will work best for the premise.

Memories in the dream space are what you want to make of them. When your character falls asleep, they're plopped into the dream world and they can assume that the role the dream has given them is who they've always been or they can be themselves thrown into a bunch of strangeness.

Basically, normal dreams versus lucid dreams. Typically in a normal dream you do not realize (or completely realize) you are dreaming or the dream makes perfect sense as you're experiencing it. Lucid dreams, on the other hand, are dreams where you are aware you are dreaming and can even manage to control the situation, in some cases. There are also memory dreams, where you recall past events by reliving them, which usually end up more emotional in nature. You are more than welcome to blend any these dreams in any way, as you see fit.

When your character wakes up, how much they remember of a specific dream is up to you. This carries over into the following dreams they have. For example, you might find your character married to another character in a dream set in a domestic suburb. In the next dream these two characters share, they end up being spies sent to kill each other. Whether they remember being married in the other dream or not is up to you. You can give them déjà vu or have them recall everything down to the last detail, or they can recall nothing at all. Ultimately, you decide how it goes as well as what makes sense for your character.

Yes, but dream death doesn't mean death in the real world. Upon dying in a dream, your character will just wake up as if from a nightmare with pulse racing and a sense of panic. Y'know, a normal response to having suddenly died in a dream. In the dream world they will fade away once awake.

No! Platonic dreams are fine as well. Smut is encouraged but it doesn't need to be involved in every interaction. If there is player interest we may even have events based more on platonic love or romantic love.

It depends on how popular the canon is and how closely related your characters are in canon. This will be determined on a case by case basis so contact the mods.

Absolutely! Original characters are perfectly permissible as long as they're not canon original characters who are closely related to canon characters. Claiming a random lord from Pride and Prejudice is fine. Claiming Mr. Darcy's long lost twin sister who you made up is not.

Character doubles are allowed but no more than two versions of the same character can be in play. Character doubles are handled on a case by case basis and you must seek the permission of the player who already claimed the character ahead of you in addition to speaking with the mods.

Yes. Just assume Bastet saw their wandering soul and plucked it from the netherworld at random. She does things like that when she's bored. Instead of "waking up," your character just goes back to the netherworld when their dream ends. If they're happiest in dreams Bastet may just allow them to perpetually exist in the dream world.

Give us the context of their culture and canon as justification for claiming them. Good examples of this are Sansa Stark and Daenerys Targaryen from A Song of Ice and Fire. They were both married at an extremely young age and expected to engage in sex for the sake of bearing heirs so it's within the realm of possibility for them to have the occasional wet dream especially since canon shows them undergoing puberty.

Yes, but this will be handled on a case by case basis. It's best to ask a mod to check your character's suitability for aging up. There's not much difference if a character goes from fourteen to fifteen but it's a big deal if you're going from six to fifteen. Using A Song of Ice and Fire again as an example, Sansa Stark aged up from thirteen to fifteen is probably ok. However, Rickon Stark aged up from six to fifteen will most likely not be allowed. In general, a character must be emotionally able to handle sexual situations. They must mentally reflect their new age as well as physically, should an age-up take place.

Though, of course, characters are perfectly allowed to dream themselves as being older or younger. This aging up is regarding their actual age outside of dreams.

Nope! Usually a post to the OOC community is all we ask if you want to do a big plot. This allows us to help you out with tweaking it in the unlikely event that it clashes with certain things in the main plot. With small player plots we don't need a heads up but you're more than welcome to contact us for feedback or assistance.
